Extension cable RP-SMA male to N Male 5m low loss pigtail

Hawking RP-SMA TO RJ-SMA ( HAC7SS )Hawking RP-SMA TO RJ-SMA ( HAC7SS )

We've got this special low-loss RP-SMA male to N male extension cable. The cable is 5m long and has an RP-SMA male connector on one end (which is used to connect to devices such as PCI and USB wireless adapters that have RP-SMA antenna ports on them) and a standard N male connector on the other end. We recommend this extension cable compared to some others online because this has a special low-loss cable. What does this mean? The antenna to which you will connect this has a gain. Let's say for example you will be connecting this to a 9 dBi gain antenna. As the cable in between the antenna and adapter gets longer, you will experience cable loss, which is a drop in the signal gain of the antenna. With low quality extension cables, the huge drop in gain will mean a much lesser range. Our special low loss cable limits the cable loss factor.

Additional Features:

- Length: 5m
- Impedance: 50 OHM
- Frequency: 2400 - 2483 MHz / 5100 - 5900 MHz
- Backward compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b WiFi standards
- Compatible with many WiFi adapters

Dual band 802.11n WiFi from Alfa Networks is here! This is the Alfa AWUS051NH wireless 802.11a/b/g/n USB adapter. It works with B/G and N networks on the 2.4 GHZ frequency and also works with 802.11n and 802.11a networks on the 5 GHz frequency. This is compatible with Apple’s dual band Time Capsule (fully functional with Apple’s dual band time capsule, but initial Time Capsule configuration must be done via Ethernet cable).

This is fully Mac compatible- works with any Mac with a G3, G4, G5, or Intel Mac processor that runs Mac OS 10.3 or later. For those with 10.6, unless you have changed your Mac configuration from factory settings to boot into 64-bit kernel, this will be compatible. If you have configured your Mac to boot to 64-bit kernel, you will need to revert back to factory settings or this device will not work.

This includes a free window mount dock holder with interchangeable suction cup and clip fasteners. Easily attach the adapter to any suction-cup compatible surface like a window, or clip it to the back of your laptop! This device is compatible with, and includes software for, Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Windows 7. This also works with Mac OS 10.3, 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6 Snow Leopard. This device will work with Snow Leopard running a 32-bit kernel, but will not operate if you select to boot your Snow Leopard Mac with a 64-bit kernel.

Special note: we recommend this device for use with single band or dual band 802.11n access points/routers. We do not recommend it for use with 802.11g access points/routers. When used with 802.11g signals, though it is compatible, it functions more like a basic range G wireless adapter. You will find that Alfa’s long range 802.11g adapter, the model AWUS036H sold here, picks up better to 802.11g access points, and you may also find that other long range G products pick up better as well. This product will give you good long ranges to 802.11n routers, and is a must-have for people that own a dual band 802.11n router.

At last, a low cost dual-band 802.11n wireless adapter for Mac owners:

* This item is fully Mac compatible and is a great alternative to pricey Airport brand dual-band Wi-Fi adapters
* Adds dual-band 802.11n functionality to any Mac, even ones with an existing Airport card or wireless card
* No Airport card needed to use this on a Mac
* Special bonus edition- includes FULL-SIZED CD-ROM for Macs (standard version comes only with mini-CD that does not fit slot-loading drives on Macs) which contains detailed Mac instructions written by skilled Rokland technicians who have been Mac owners going back to the Mac Classic!

A note about transfer speed: this provides a maximum of 300 megabits per second (mbps) data transfer. This does not mean your connection will be 300 mbps. To connect at 300 mbps, you must have an 802.11n router capable of 300 mbps speeds, and you must also have the router set to N-only mode in its internal settings. 802.11n routers that are set to mixed G/N mode to allow for backward compatibility with 802.11g devices will provide slower connection speeds to 802.11n devices. If your speed is between 65 and 150 mbps, you have an 802.11n connection, but you can likely improve the speed by putting your router into N-only mode, and adjusting between the 20 and 40 MHz band in your router settings. Also keep in mind that connection speeds will be lower as the distance between the router and adapter are greater. Your router has as much to do with your connection speed as this WiFi adapter so if you are not achieving desired connection speeds please contact us with you router brand and model for suggestions on what to do.

This includes the Alfa adapter, USB cable, 5 dBi gain antenna, driver CD, and a docking mount which has an interchangeable suction cup and clip. So you can easily affix this to a suction cup-compatible surface like a window, or clip it to the back of your laptop when you are on the go.

Additional product features:

· RP-SMA external antenna connector (includes 5 dBi gain antenna)
· Soft AP mode
· Compatible with all the latest encryption standards including WEP, WPA, WPA 2, and 802.1x
· Does ship with Linux drivers but we cannot verify compatibility with particular distros or offer any Linux support

More about dual-band networking:

Dual band 802.11n wireless networking offers some advantages that single band 802.11n networking cannot, but there are some requirements and limitations. For starters, to take advantage of the dual-band capabilities of this or any 802.11n dual-band adapter, you must also have a dual-band 802.11n wireless router to which you are connecting. If you are connected to a single band 802.11n router, or an 802.11g router, you will not be able to utilize the 5 GHz functionality this product offers.

-When to use 5 GHz-

Many dual-band 802.11n routers will let you broadcast two network signals simultaneously, one 2.4 GHz signal and a separate 5 GHz signal. The 2.4 GHz band offers slower speeds, but can transmit over a further distance and penetrate obstacles better. The 5 Ghz band offers great speed improvement, but is not able to transmit as far.

· Use 5 GHz to stream video or transfer files from your router to your computer when in the same room as the router (or relatively close by)
· Use 2.4 GHz when you need to get a connection from further away
· Using 5 Ghz allows optimal 802.11n speed performances. Simultaneously running a 2.4 GHz signal will allow older 802.11g devices in your home to still connect to your wireless network.
· Use 5 GHz in a small apartment in a city area where there are a lot of 2.4 GHz networks in operation, creating lots of interference

Some dual band 802.11n routers, such as the early versions of the Apple Time Capsule, do not support simultaneous networks and require you to choose to broadcast either a 2.4 GHz signal or a 5 GHz signal. Note that when running a 5 GHz-only signal on these types of devices, older 802.11g or 802.11b devices will not be able to connect to it. In that case, if 5 GHz connectivity is desired, it is recommended to get one of these dual band Alfa devices for each compatible device in your home. This way they can all connect at 5 GHz.

This is a 7 dBi gain rubber duck antenna for use with wireless adapters that have an RP-SMA connector on them. Many PCI and some USB adapters have this type of device. The 1000mw USB adapter from Alfa we sell here on this web site has an RP-SMA connector and this is compatible with that adapter.

This measures 11" in height. It is much lighter than our 9 dBi option for sale on this site, and generally does not cause adapters such as the Alfa mentioned above to tip over. However in some cases with some adapters, due to the weight of the antenna you may need to mount or lean the setup in such a manner to prevent it from tipping over.

This unit is brand new in OEM factory packaging (non-retail). You will receive the antenna just as shown, exactly as pictured. It has no electronic parts and requires no installation on the computer- simply attach it to the RP-SMA connector on your wireless adapter and it will automatically work. This may seem basic, but just to be clear not all wireless adapters have an external antenna connector. You should only buy this if you know your adapter has an RP-SMA connector. If you are unsure, please email us with your adapter brand and model number.

State sales tax of 6% will be added to New Jersey purchases only. There is no sales tax for any other state.

Alfa 1000mW USB Wireless G/B Adapter w/ RP-SMA Antenna AWUS036H

Alfa 1000mW USB Wireless G/B Adapter w/ RP-SMA Antenna AWUS036H

New in retail box with 5 dBi gain antenna included! We have this 802.11g wireless USB adapter from Alfa (model AWUS036H). This is the most recent 1000mW (1 watt) version from Alfa with the "1" logo and authenticity hologram on the product. What sets this USB device apart from other USB adapters on the market is that this has an RP-SMA antenna connector so that you can add an external antenna to boost your wireless range. This is the newest version from Alfa with a 5 dBi gain rubber duck antenna in retail box.

This has a stunning 1000mW output power. So if you are looking for a device to connect to an outdoor 2.4 GHz antenna, such as on a boat or an RV, this is a perfect solution. Because this is a USB adapter, it works on any computer (desktop or laptop) that has a USB port. In addition to working with the usual suspects (Win98SE/200/ME/XP), this also works with Windows Vista, Linux (kernel 2.6.6 and later) and Macintosh (OS version 10.4). And the necessary drivers for ALL of these operating systems are included on CD-ROM so you don't have to go searching around on the Internet. That being said, we should note that our technical staff can only provide advanced support for Windows operating systems. We can provide limited support for Mac and Linux.

Some new laptops from manufacturers like Dell and HP no longer include a PCMCIA card slot. Up until now if you bought or planned to buy one of these laptops, there would be no way for you to get a wireless connection option with an external antenna connector. This has all changed with this kit we are offering. This will work on any PC with a USB port (laptop or desktop) and is especially ideal for folks whose laptops do not have a PCMCIA slot who need a long range wireless solution! We believe that in the coming years PCMCIA cards will be a thing of the past. So even if your laptop has a slot, why not buy this kit- USB is the wave of the future and then you will be able to use this kit on any laptop you might purchase down the road.

This item is brand new in retail box. This adapter does not have a built-in antenna. Use the included 5 dBi gain antenna or any other antenna you may already have or get that has an RP-SMA connector on it.

NEW 16 dBi gain outdoor yagi Wi-Fi directional antenna RP-SMA

NEW 16 dBi gain outdoor yagi Wi-Fi directional antenna RP-SMA

This is a 16 unit directional yagi antenna. It comes with mounting equipment as shown. This antenna is ideal for outdoor mounting and includes a short built-in cable with RP-SMA male antenna connector. Most likely you will need a longer cable to be able to use this outdoors, and we recommend our Alfa low-loss shielded 5m extension cable.

Directional antennas concentrate gain in one particular direction and can do a better job at piercing obstacles in a particular direction, providing you with better distance and signal. A directional antenna does not need to be pointed in the precise direction of a signal, just in the general direction. This illustration demonstrates the proper way to mount a yagi directional antenna. Note that the antenna can also be mounted in the same outward direction but so the lobes are parallel to the ground. You do not want to have the antenna pointing directly upward or downward though, as that will negatively impact performance.

Because of the way these antennas are designed, we do not recommend using them indoors. The yagi antenna should have some open area between it and the very first obstacle between the antenna and the source AP. If you place the yagi right up against an obstacle, that will also negatively impact performance. A trial-and-error process may be necessary to determine the optimal location and position.

Specs:

Standard: 2.4 GHz standard (802.11g/n compatible)
Input impedance: 50 Ohms
Max power: 50W
Interface: RP-SMA
Gain: 16dBi
Bandwidth: 100MHz
Frequency range: 2400~2500MHz

Frequently Asked Questions about outdoor Yagi 16 dBi gain RP-SMA antenna:

1. I just hooked this up to the WiFi adapter by my computer, and I see fewer networks than my factory 5 dBi antenna that came with my WiFi adapter. Is my antenna defective?

There are two issues at play here. One is that your factory antenna is omni directional, while this antenna is directional. This means this antenna will concentrate gain in the direction in which is pointed, resulting in better range and signal in that direction. While it can pick up from other directions in which it is not pointed, the distance will be limited and signals will be weak. Your factory omni may pick up more total Aps, but this antenna should pick up stronger signals in the direction it is pointed. The other issue has to do with positioning. Using this antenna indoors on your desk pointed out a window is not an optimal place to have it. This was designed to be mounted outdoors in a very open area. Not only will this give you the added benefit of not having your building walls as an obstacle to the connection, it will also allow the antenna to perform much better as well.

2. Is this weatherproof?

It is weather resistant. It can be used outdoors and exposed to some elements. We do not recommend long term exposure to extreme temperatures, or immersion in water.

3. On an auction web site I saw a Yagi advertised as 20 dBi gain coming from Hong Kong cheaper than this one, what gives?

Gain is commonly inflated by sellers because it cannot be easily measured by end users. This is why you can get a "18 dBi gain" dipole antenna on some auction web sites that is the same size as a 7 dBi dipole antenna for just $4.00 from Hong Kong sellers. When it comes to any type of Wi-Fi device, the reputation of the seller matters a great deal. Before you take the plunge on a Wi-Fi kit showing a Wi-Fi adapter with "4000mW" of output power and a dipole antenna with "24 dBi gain" all for $20.00, remember you get what you pay for. Our antennas are carefully built and tested to specs. We could advertise this as a 20 or 22 dBi gain antenna if we wanted to I suppose, but our reputation is our business, and our advertisements include only correct specs.

State sales tax of 6.75% will be added to FLORIDA purchases only. There is no sales tax for any other state.
