If you are reading this, be sure you are aware of the slight difference in the model of  the Alfa AWUS036NH as compared to the AWUS036H.

The NH version is the cousin to the famous Alfa AWUS036H. Although on paper the NH's 2000mW Transmitter Output Power seems impressive and should be able to outperform the original H - it's actually quite the opposite in my opinion.  Also, many people have said that this adapter is not as great as it seems and had a lot of compatibility issues.
It is an updated version of the original Alfa AWUS036H and although professional tests have shown the NH version to have phenomenal range, typical users (such as you and I) have said that there were too many problems.  Click Here to See More.

I personally do not recommend the NH as since a friend of mine purchased it thinking he could "beat" me in the wireless range test.  It didn't work out too well for him I should say. It's one of the reason why I state in my review here that the H will be able to stand the technological test of time.

It is still a great adapter, but don't let the 2000mW be the only thing blinding you to buy this.  My friend wishes he could return it and get the 1000mW AWUS036H version, but maybe in due time Alfa will release better drivers for this adapter since as of current there is a lot of compability issues with this NH model because most wireless routers are set up for wireles B/G anyways.  N routers are virtually unused except by those who MUST have the latest and greatest.

The Alfa AWUS036H is the ultimate USB Wifi card and it is everything that you imagine it to be. This wifi card is the most sensitive card you can get and the range at which it can detect other wireless networks is astonishing.

I’m not going to go into all the technical stuff about this card, to be honest I don’t need to. All you have to know is it will boost the number of bars for your wireless connection. You don’t have to worry about why you can’t connect to your wireless router that’s on the other side of the house. No more worrying about any kind of interference that causes signal loss. If you have a clear line of site to your router, this thing can detect it from literally a mile or more away (some reviewers tests have proven this!).

Personally, I have poured through hundreds of websites looking for that perfect wireless card and I have scoured forums looking for personal reviews of the AWUS036H the first time I read about it. I can tell you right now you don’t have to look any further, you don’t even have to think about this one it is that good.

Look, if you’re tired about the performance from your internal laptop’s wireless card or if you’re tired about having a slow connection and want to ramp it up with “someone else’s” connection – this is it. Plain and simple - it will get the job done and it will do it better than anything else that is out on the market. It will probably outperform anything that will be coming in the future as well.

To conclude my personal review, I currently have my very own Alfa AWUS036H adapter hooked up to a Hawking Hi-Gain Directional Corner Antenna (15dBi) HAI15SC as you can see in the picture, and I am completely satisfied. 223.66% satisfied to be exact. I only use the 5dBi antenna when I'm traveling or wardriving.  I don’t even give other wireless USB cards a second thought anymore. You won't regret it.

So there you have it, the list could go ON and ON but I don't think it's necessary. This is just one of those electronic devices that will stand the test of time.  As one person mentioned, you should really get this from Amazon for the free shipping and no sales tax, plus Amazon always has the lowest prices and is reputable (you also get the window mount or clip mount as you see in my picture above for free!). AND they only carry the latest version of the adapter.

The latest version of Alfa sku AWUS036H: It was formerly designated as a 500mW device and now Alfa's specification is 1000mW (1-watt).
